Technology
Technology (6th grade)
As technology continues to find ways to enhance our lives, we must continue
to find ways to equip our students with the knowledge required to succeed.
Students will progress through three separate modules: “Computing
Fundamentals”, “Key Applications”, and “Living Online”. “Computing
Fundamentals” focuses on the hardware, software, and general
maintenance/usage of computers. “Key Applications” enables the student
to be introduced to software applications that they will use on a regular
basis. Finally, “Living Online” will discuss the topics of computer
networking with in-depth coverage of the Internet and what it has to offer.
Throughout the course, students will be introduced to ways these new skills
can be used to further the kingdom of God.
Technology (7th grade)
Keyboarding
In today’s age of technology, learning to master
the skill of keyboarding is of utmost importance for our students. It
is becoming a “life skill” that not only will be used in middle and high
school for researching and documenting papers but also in our personal lives
for email and tracking our finances. God has given us the ability to
develop computer technology, and it is our responsibility to use it in the
correct manner. Once the basic keying skills have been established,
this course will continue in document formatting skills that are commonly
accepted in professional settings. Our students will not only attain a
skill that they can “use for life”, but they will also become fluent in the
skills of time management, attention to detail, and organization.
Technology (8th grade)
Performing with Microsoft Office 2007
Using task-oriented exercises and real-life
projects, students will become proficient in many areas of Microsoft Office.
Sections will focus on Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express.
Using a business theme, students will practice “hands-on” the skills that
will help them progress in both their education and in the business world.
Throughout the course, the students will be introduced to different ways
they can use these new skills to further the kingdom of God.
